Art Exhibition June 2020
An awesome culmination of our art focus which celebrated the talents of our students. The senior room, our event managers, hosted the community at an art exhibition, displaying work from all of the students. The event management included designing the displays, decorations (including the making of bunting and floral arrangements), food and drinks, invitations, layout and music. We are so very proud of their efforts and they absolutely reached for the stars... and soared even further beyond!

Wheels Week March 2020
A fun week with our bikes, scooters and skates at school. Well done senior boys for building jumps on the field and to all the children for their riding/ scooting skills! A visit from Dee Parkes, Sports Manawatu was an added bonus!

Creek Study Senior Class
The senior class participated in a creek study with Horizons and gained valuable advice of how to clean up their creek, plant the gaps and get rid of the willows. The aim is a lush and attractive creek bed that maintains itself!
Year Six Cyber Bullying and Online Communication Feedback
Our year six students worked with Constable Max and the teachers to identify online communication tools, their uses, possible misuse and strategies to help them in the modern world. This work was taken to the Royal New Zealand Police College and the feedback was outstanding. Well done year six students!

Sports Report
Winter sport has started again as keen, young sports stars take to the playing field again.
Puketoi netball B grade won their game 24-1 against Dannevirke South. Molly said it was a good game and good way to start the season.
Puketoi Yellow won their game, Cooper played outstanding and got player of the day. Puketoi Green won their game and have won all their games in the season and have been playing really well. The St Jo’s combined midget team lost their game against Norsewood 11-4. TJ enjoyed the game and James got player of the day. Puketoi Juniors had a really good close game against Ruahine 24-17. Lane said it was tough game but tried his hardest. The Seniors had a hard day at the office with a loss against Central Country but it was good for the team working together and they kept trying till the very end.
The Weber Hockey teams have been going well with a few wins and are showing great skill and great fitness.

Learning Line Dancing
This morning we were lucky enough to have a demonstration from the Dannevirke Boot Scooters Club. Thank you ladies for showing us your skills and helping us learn new movements. We know as part of our dance and drama focus this term that there are many types of dance and movement. You may be able to spot some of our new moves in our productions at the end of the term!
Today Weber School did line dancing. Some of the moves were slide, step, heel, toe, turning and stamping. I really enjoyed it. I have never given it a go before. My legs got a bit sore but it was worth it. I really liked line dancing, I hope the Dannevirke Boot Scooters can come again. By Amelia.

Today is Roald Dahl's Birthday and our wonderful librarians suggested we celebrate. Cake and balloons as part of library time as well as costumes makes today extra fun. It is amazing how many of his books we have read.
